Compensation

Used transformationally, compensation is the opposite of authenticity. Inauthentic actions “compensate” for the identity’s inability to move energy through the me-matrix with resulting change and transformation. Unable to do this the identity rather moves energy away from the me-matrix in some manner.

Energy through the me-matrix and away from the me-matrix is an important basic difference. The first produces change. The second does not. The first produces healing. The second produces relief. The first produces an experience of the personal unknown. The second produces an experience of the personal known. The first can be consdered as expansive and growth-engendering. The second can be considered as safe.

When any action is taken to energy away from the me-matrix for relief, safety or to stay in the personal known with the intention of avoiding of feelings and emotions then that action is a compensation.

For example: Smoking, when it is inauthentic, (and it is not always inauthentic) is used to avoid the authentic expression of something. (Usually some fear.)
